In a World’s first, The Govt. of Rajasthan & Jaipur Nagar Nigam (JNN) have awarded SMC–SAMUDRA the contract to replace existing HPSV and other conventional street lights by Samudra LED High Efficacy Street Lights.
While the total number of street lights to be replaced is 1,98,000.00, the 1st phase will see 71K street lights getting replaced by the end of 2015. A formal contract was signed and exchanged in Jaipur in the presence of the Hon’ble Mayor of Jaipur Mr. Nirmal Nahata on 29th Dec ’14.
This is the World’s largest ESCO project based on actual savings through implementation of LEDs in Street Lighting. (Ref: Project Consultants – International Finance Corporation, a World Bank Body.)

ANNUAL CONSUMPTION AFTER INSTALLING SAMUDRA LED STREET LIGHTS: ~10,138 MW
SAVINGS ACHIEVED BY JAIPUR NAGAR NIGAM: ~34,189 MW
SAVINGS IN PERCENTAGE: ~77.13% USING THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY IN LIGHTING
GSM/GPRS TECHNOLOGY TO REMOTELY MONITOR LIGHTS AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION. THIS WILL LEAD TO INCREASED ACCOUNTABILITY AND ALSO MAKE THE PROCESS OF IDENTIFYING FAILURES VERY ACCURATE AND FAST, THEREBY DRASTICALLY REDUCING THE TURNAROUND TIME OF REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE
